Our green (parks, street trees and gardens) and blue (rivers, canals, ponds and lakes) spaces play a significant role in both climate mitigation and climate resilience.

Although we already have a good range of green and blue space, we need more and it needs to be of better quality. We also need to take action to ensure current green and blue space provision is protected and, where possible, enhanced.

These case studies demonstrate how citizens and organisations across Manchester are developing our climate resilience by improving our green and blue spaces.
